03.04.2000 UFC XXIV Champion:
In a battle of two warriors Mr. Gibson came out and showed what the meaning of having true heart is. In a scheduled 3 X 5 min. fight Mr. Gibson knocked out a game Jermaine Andre with a left knee to the head at the 3:31 mark of the 3rd round. In the first round Mr. Gibson took Andre down landing in Andre's guard. Mr. Gibson then went on to throw strikes from on top moving from half guard to sidebody to knee in the stomach. In the closing minute of the round Mr. Gibson applied a rolling armbar which Andre managed to escape. The round ended with Jermaine landing a flurry of punches with one ending up cutting Mr. Gibson's retina and blurrring his vision for the rest of the fight. The second round saw a lot of strikes in the clinch. Mr. Gibson landed many solid knees to the stomach (seting up for the finish) and stomp foots in the clinch while Jermaine threw some punches and elbows. In the middle of the round the fight ended up once again on the ground with Mr. Gibson once again landing strikes from on top. Mr. Gibson applied a full paintbrush which Jermaine escaped. In the third and final round Jermaine was defending the knees to the body in the clinch well. Mr. Gibson then pulled Jermaine off the cage and brought a devastating knee to the chin which ended the fight instantaneously. |
